In which I whine

I go in for my 3 hour glucola test tomorrow morning.  Waiting for 3 hours in the hospital while bored and hungry isn’t sounding like fun right now.  I tried to convince hubby that I didn’t need to go — even if I still show up with high blood sugar, I’ll just end up watching what I eat.  Which is what I’m doing now.  Without taking the loooong test.  Which is why I’m currently eating Cheerios with no honey.

  1. As your long-distance blog doula, I would recommend that you not put too much stock in the test result either way. Eat. 5 or 6 times a day. Eat protein every time you eat . . . so, if you’re having Cheerios, eat a slice of turkey or a piece of cheese with it. Get your heart rate up at least 3 times a day . . . that burns blood sugar. Even when you get up into your pregnancy when you have to be really low-impact, do arm pumps (pump your arms, left then right, up from your shoulders into the air as fast as you can until you get your heart beating fast for a couple of minutes.) Drink at least 64 oz. of water a day. Enjoy being pregnant. :o)

  2. Stephanie — I’ll drink 64 oz. of water a day if you will 🙂
